We Can’t Surf

This book consists of paintings which are inspired by a song <<We Can’t Surf>> by the Korean rock group Ganas. In this song, the members of the group sing and play cheerfully contrary to the title of the song. Similarly, the surfers in this book enjoy surfing despite the title. The vibrant colors of the paintings reflect the moment of the surfing scene and correspond to the strumming of a guitar, without any beginning or end. This discordance between the text and the image arouses poetic inspiration which brings to the reader a feeling of delightful loneliness. This book is a song made by waves,surf,colors and summer,rolling in and out,approaching and dying away,rising and falling. And this book is the sound of surf.
